Will Charlie Sheen Get More of a Pass Than Tiger Woods?

Charlie Sheen was arrested. Again. He spent part of Christmas in a Colorado clink for allegedly trying to choke his wife Brook Mueller.
Between basketball and NFL, I feel like I saw the Charlie Sheen/Michael Jordan Hanes commercial at least a dozen times on Christmas Day. So while he was behind bars, he was still shilling underwear! God bless America!
Charlie Sheen’s troubled life has played out in the press over many years now. It’s been almost 20 years since he “accidentally” shot Kelly Preston, his fiance’ at the time in the arm (unsurprisingly, the relationship ended soon after).
Sheen always seems to wind up getting a pass, and I don’t think it will be much different here. I think in the end, and sooner, rather than later, he’ll get more of pass with the media and the American public than Tiger Woods is going to get.
These are just some quick Christmas time thoughts, but if it it works out that he gets more of a pass than Tiger Woods it a.) won’t surprise me at all and b.) isn’t fair (yes, I know nobody ever said life is fair!).
Why won’t I be surprised if Sheen gets a pass where Tiger doesn’t? Because Sheen is like a real life Hank Moody from Californication. He’s got the lovable rogue thing down in spades. Where Woods comes off surly and aloof, Sheen is charming and likable. Some will say it’s because Tiger is much more famous than Sheen, and I think Woods is more famous, both in the USA and throughout the world, but still think Woods’ getting more scrutiny is more a result of his surly and aloof image than his fame.
It’s perfectly natural to like people who are charming and likable more than people who are surly and aloof! While it’s fair to like Sheen more as a result, it’s not fair to give him more of a pass. Why? Well, if the allegations against Woods are all true, what he did was sleazy (and apparently sleazy over and over and over and over again), but not illegal. If the allegations against Sheen prove true, trying to choke a person is definitely illegal.
What does that say about us if we are willing to cut more slack to someone who allegedly tried to wring his wife’s neck simply because in general the person is more likable? It probably speaks more to simple human nature than anything else. But as with Tiger Woods, in the end, money will prevail. Hanes might pull the Sheen spots, but there’s no chance CBS is going to cancel Two and Half Men over this.
i don't know in what world charlie sheen is likeable, he seems like an asshole.

Benicio Del Toro is about to star as the new "Wolfman," a remake of the classic Universal horror film. But sources said Del Toro is developing another remake -- of the cult classic TV series "T.H.E. Cat."
The dark, stylish NBC show ran for one season in 1966 and starred Robert Loggia as a hard-hitting former circus-aerialist-turned-gun for hire named "T. Huett Ed ward Cat," a k a "The Cat."
Our source said, "Benicio is looking to start filming early 2010." The series was also inspired, in part, by Alfred Hitchcock's "To Catch a Thief," which George Clooney is rumored to want to remake with "Mad Men" star January Jones in the Grace Kelly role.

AC/DC Austrian concert in doubt over rare bird risk

* AC/DC concert may be cancelled
* Headbanger music "a danger to birds"
* Animal rights group threatening legal action
AUSSIE rockers AC/DC could have to cancel a sold-out concert because their big sound poses a danger to rare birds.
Animal rights campaigners are threatening legal action if the veteran band goes ahead with a gig planned for Wels airport in Austria in May.
Hans Uhl of BirdLife said birds nesting in the area at the time would be threatened by anthems such as Highway To Hell and You Shook Me All Night Long.
"The second biggest colony of curlews in Upper Austria and various other ground-nesting birds must not become endangered," Mr Uhl said, The Daily Telegraph reports.
Tickets for the event - which sees the group return after playing to a sold-out crowd at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium last May - sold out after going on sale earlier this month.
The event's 80,000 tickets were sold out within hours.
In Australia, the band's Melbourne concerts at Etihad Stadium in February had been in doubt after AFL objections earlier this year.
The AFL said the dates would clash with a possible pre-season NAB Cup match.
But the signing of a new contract between the league and the stadium has allowed AC/DC to go ahead with the three Melbourne shows on February 11, 13 and 15.
The band sold 180,000 tickets for those shows.

StyleList: What inspired your new swimwear line?
Jessica Simpson: My spring collection was inspired by my favorite vacations and the jet-setting getaways I dream about. From the nautical seashores here at home, to hot Havana nights or the bold colors you'd think of in an exotic foreign land, the line is fun and flirty, but still so classic. I'm always inspired by my fans and I want my clothes to be pieces that women feel confident wearing anywhere.
SL: What was the design process like?
JS: It has been so much fun. I worked with my great team and Red Carter -- they really know swimwear. The product looks great and fits so well, which is really important in a swimsuit. My mom is also a huge part of the line. We love working together from inspiration to final product -- we touch each and every item.

Taylor Swift ‘Jealous of Emma Roberts’
Taylor Swift is not a lady to be messed with!
The singer — who recently celebrated her 20th birthday — apparently flew into a jealous rage when she saw Julia Roberts‘ niece Emma Roberts making a play for her hunky beau Taylor Lautner, who stars with both girls in new movie Valentine’s Day.
“Everyone on set could tell Emma was crushing on Taylor’s teenage toyboy — she kept making goo-goo eyes whenever she saw him, even though they have no scenes together,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.
“Then Emma pushed too hard, unexpectedly showing up on-set to watch a love scene between Taylor and Taylor.
“Swift got really creeped out because Emma kept staring at Taylor, so just to show her that the race really does go to the swift, she suddenly kissed her boyfriend like he was the last guy on earth.
“Her kiss was so long and passionate that everyone held their breath, knowing it was an in-your-face warning to Emma that she’d better back off fast.”
